Several members of my family (who were foreign missionaries) were sent to an internment camp in China during World War II. This was the same camp where Eric Liddell (yes, the real Olympic sprinter from Chariots of Fire) was sent. Today I'd like to share some stories about that camp and a related story about me and my family in 2015. My friend Ilik is one of the most incredible people I've ever met. He graduated from ITB (Bandung Institute of Technology) in Indonesia and then got a Masters in Japan. After that, he acquired a PhD in Germany. Eventually, he even became one of the most highly respected leaders in his country and the president of ITB -- all this while being an ardent Christian in the area with the most Muslims on the planet. He taught us to love the Indonesian culture and also about what it means to be a true follower of Christ. Today I'd like to share a few stories of our time with Ilik and some of the incredible things he's accomplished over the course of his life. This is episode #1 in our series about some of our closest friends over the years. Duration: 30 minutes 24 seconds Picture of Finn and Ilik together in Indonesia available below.
