To get to the small village of Hequ (pronounced like you're sneezing) in China where my grandparents worked, you had to take several trips by train until you got to the final leg of the journey which involved traveling by foot for 11 days through treacherous canyons. During one of these trips, my dad made a mistake which caused him to learn a difficult lesson and on another, the caravan encountered a group of bandits. It took three and a half years for Sandy and I to get our Indonesian visas. When we got to Singapore, our mission leader was dumbfounded that we were the chosen candidates. He said that out of all the people who applied, we were the least qualified. While I was a little offended, Sandy found it encouraging and today I'd like to share why in a quick story I have for you all. This is yet another example of how God's ways aren't always our ways!
