Several members of my family (who were foreign missionaries) were sent to an internment camp in China during World War II. This was the same camp where Eric Liddell (yes, the real Olympic sprinter from Chariots of Fire) was sent. Today I'd like to share some stories about that camp and a related story about me and my family in 2015.

Sometimes God works in ways that we don't expect. Toward the beginning of the period where we felt God was calling us to do missions, we felt like He wanted us to go serve in Iran. However, political circumstances outside of our control at the time made that impossible. We ended up serving the Muslims in Indonesia (the most Muslim country in the world) instead. But God wasn't done. Today I'd like to share with you the story of how God used us to reach that very same place in Iran even though we weren't able to physically go there ourselves.

Different countries function very differently. Today I'd like to share with you a collection of stories that exhibit the strengths and weaknesses of the socioeconomic systems we experienced in Taiwan, Indonesia, China, and the USA. More importantly than that, I hope it sheds some light on what life was like and why some of them function better than others.

Years ago, I met a man who asked me if I would be able to help him retrieve a large sum of money in the billions of dollars that was lost around the time that China turned to communism. In this episode, Finn tells another incredible story about how God worked out all the details for principles based in the 10 Commandments to be taught to the top police officials in China. This would be unusual at any time, but it was especially strange in the 1990's during the height of communism in the country. From unlikely connections to the perfect timing, it's obvious that this was only possible because of God.

We look forward to sharing these new stories and we hope they encourage and bless you and your family. Thanks for watching.
My wife and I have lived most of our lives outside the US. Both our youths were in Taiwan. Then we worked in Taiwan for two years, Indonesia for 9 years and China for 25 years. Also I've visited Europe about 15 times where many of my 1st cousins live.
